These rough sketches were most probably taken whilst Turner was on the road, travelling by carriage from Dresden towards Teplitz (modern day Teplice in the Czech Republic). Some of the sketches are continued from the folio opposite (Tate D30309; Turner Bequest CCCI 7a).
