Here Turner has drawn a prospect of Prague’s imperial complex from a vantage point on Petrín Hill. The imperial Castle and Cathedral of St Vitus can be seen rising loftily from atop the Hradcany, overlooking the Little Quarter and Vltava River beyond. Turner has rendered this prospect in two parts, so as to form one panoramic view. The sketch at rear showing the Vltava and Old Town completes the whole view.
