This is Schloss Weesenstein, a castle in the Mueglitz Valley located to the south of Dresden. Set among wooded hillside and Italianate formal gardens, Weesenstein was for centuries the country seat of the Saxon kings. See also Tate D30901–D30916; Turner Bequest CCCVI 9a–17.
