Above it is a prospect of Berlin taken from Kreuzberg, a district to the south of the city centre. The foot of the Kreuzberg Liberation Monument is visible at top left (see Tate D31058; Turner Bequest CCCVII 20). A procession of carriages navigates the winding road leading to and from the city centre in the foreground.
