These rough sketches show aspects of unidentified riverside towns in the Netherlands or Germany. Two of the views are inscribed ‘Kidlerswade’ and ‘Wesher’. ‘Wesher’ is shown again on Tate D30646; Turner Bequest CCCIV 8a.
