These cursory drawings showing mountains and a distant town are rendered with the sketchbook turned upside down and are continued onto the folio opposite (Tate D30669; Turner Bequest CCCIV 20a). Turner has inscribed a largely illegible note below one of the views which reads ‘[...]berg’ (‘berg’ meaning mountain in German).
