These sketches show Frankfurt Cathedral taken from various perspectives as Turner explored the city’s old town (see also Tate D30696; Turner Bequest CCCIV 35). The tower of the Cathedral in the larger of the two sketches is continued onto the folio opposite (Tate D30698; Turner Bequest CCCIV 36).
