Here Turner pictures the Königstrasse, a busy street in Nuremberg, Bavaria. At left is the Mauthalle, Nuremberg’s customshouse (‘maut’ is ‘toll’ in German), and at centre is the Church of St Lorenz.
In a separate sketch at far right Turner has rendered a cursory landscape inscribed ‘[...]ft Road’.
