This sketch comprises instalments ‘2’ and ‘3’ of a panoramic view of Hamburg, Germany. The first instalment is on the folio opposite (Tate D30854; Turner Bequest CCCV 17a). The Petrikirche (St Peter’s Church) and Katharinenkirche (St Katharine’s) are rendered at top left and centre right, while the Nikolaikirche and Michaeliskirche is in the third instalment at the uppermost register.
