This is a view of Kendal from the south-east, from close to the river Kent. The sketch, drawn with the page turned horizontally, supplies the detail of the church for a more distant view on folio 14 recto opposite (D11062). The present author has dated these sketches of Kendal to Sunday 11 August 1816, the last day of this particular tour.1
