J.M.W. Turner: Sketchbooks, Drawings and Watercolours

From a hillside terrace Turner depicts a view of Heidelberg Castle and town from the east. From left to right are the Broken Tower and Bell Tower, the Church of the Holy Spirit, old bridge and Neckar valley. Figures can be seen in the foreground at left. The same figures reappear in Tate D29832; Turner Bequest CCXCVIII 10.
