With the page turned horizontally, this is a slight pencil outline of hills above a shoreline, not listed in Finberg’s 1909 Turner Bequest Inventory1 in relation to its recto, D10005 (Turner Bequest CXXXVI 19). Underneath the sketch, Turner has loosely inscribed what can be read as ‘Antony’. This indicates that this is a view towards of the village of that name, a parish above the Lynher River on the Cornish side of the River Tamar, and would make the viewpoint some way inland from Plymouth Sound, seen from various directions between folios 17 and 23 recto (D10003–D10009).
There is a similar view on folio 20 recto opposite (D10006).
