The marks at the left of the page continue the inverted sketch, probably of Lewes Castle, from folio 6 verso opposite (D35272). At the centre is another sketch describing the outline of probably these same buildings again, only from a more distant vantage point; overlapping is a sketch of the highest part of the mound. A curved line, evidently drawn with a compass or perhaps around the foot of a glass, divides the upper part of the page; within this curve is another sketch of the same mound.
