In the thirties, up to 1938, Adrian Allinson usually spent part of each spring and summer in the Mediterranean area with Heinrich Schroeder, a German painter. During a period of four years around c.1933 Allinson made visits to Ibiza; these visits were reflected in several Ibizan pictures, landscapes and two paintings of market scenes.
