Technique and condition
This watercolour with a pencil underdrawing is on off white laid paper and is in fair condition. There is a pencil sketch on the verso of the sheet. The watercolour suffers from fading of the blue pigment, and its tone and overall appearance have been altered due to the yellowing of the paper support through exposure to light. It also suffers from matt burn around the edged of the image.
On acquisition the work was locally cleaned and adhesive residues removed. It has been inlaid into 'Zerkall' toned wove paper 150 gsm and mounted in a Dull white museum board.
