With the possible exception of the pen and ink figure drawings of 1902, Joan González's main group of dated works is a small series of gouaches and ink drawings of 1904 depicting an arid stony landscape, with dry stone walls and scattered clumps of trees. They were probably based on memories of Catalonia, and two of them may have been the works exhibited at the Salon d'Automne in October-November 1904 as 'Landscape (Memory of my Country).'
