Technique and condition
The image is painted in watercolour and gouache applied over a pencil underdrawing on cream wove paper. The work is in good condition apart from a small tear. Paper and adhesive remnants on the edges of the work are due to the removal of a window mount. Discolouration on the verso has been caused by exposure to atmospheric conditions.
On acquisition the paper and adhesive remnants on the recto and the tape hinges remaining on the verso were removed. Residual adhesive on the verso was removed and the work pressed prior to being inlaid and mounted onto white museum board.
