Technique and condition
The image is painted in watercolour applied over a pencil underdrawing with detail in gouache and outline detail and modelling in brush and ink on cream wove paper. The work is in sound condition although it is has suffered a small amount of damage and discolouration from its mount and from being backed on to a paper with animal glue.
On acquisition the work was removed from its mount prior to being pressed, inlaid and mounted onto white museum board.
