Arthur Studd's single one-man exhibition during his lifetime was held at the Alpine Club Gallery, London, in June 1911. Of the sixty paintings in the exhibition, at least twenty were views of Venice; even the catalogue cover was decorated with the reproduction of a swift pen sketch of the church of Santa Maria della Salute. No biographical details were offered in the catalogue so it is not possible to be precise about the date of Studd's working visit to Venice.
