Catalogue entry

This detailed topographical study was taken from North Hinksey, a village which lies to the west of the city of Oxford. Executed in fine, crisp line this expansive view continues onto the opposite folio (Tate D28338; Turner Bequest CCLXXXIX 24a). This section of the prospect shows Madgalen College Tower at far right, and, moving towards the centre, Christ Church Cathedral and College, All Souls College, St Marys Church, All Saints Church, and the Radcliffe Camera.
