See Tate D00696 (Turner Bequest XXVIII K), a watercolour based on this study. Finberg notes the present work as ‘Once No.66 in 3rd Loan Collection (withdrawn September 1904)’,1 but this appears to be in error, the exhibited work being D00696.2
