See notes to D04645; Turner Bequest LXXV 53 from this sketchbook, a view of the same place described by Finberg as near Chamonix but identifiable as Wassen. In this instance this is confirmed by Turner’s label, numbered ‘13’ as is the drawing and reading ‘St Gothard’ and ‘Wasen’.
