Inverted relative to the sketchbook’s foliation, the drawing is continued on folio 50 recto opposite (D01774; Turner Bequest XLI 99). It is likely that this is a village near the Brecon Beacons or the Black Mountains; see the drawing of mountains on the preceding opening, folios 48 verso–49 recto (D01771–D01772; Turner Bequest XLI 96–97).
