The two sketches may relate to the same building, possibly a church tower with a spire. They are unconnected with the landscape watercolour on the recto (D00872; Turner Bequest XXXIII A).
Technical notes:
There are ochre and grey paint smears; the sheet is stained with glue and by the leaching of the blue pigment on the recto (D00872).
