Inverted relative to the sketchbook’s foliation, the subject may be identified as a marble figure of Antinous in the British Museum; it seems to have been studied along with the Egyptian details on folio 65 verso (D04074). For other studies of Egyptian design see folio 130 recto (D04150; Turner Bequest LXIX 131) and the Egyptian Details sketchbook (Tate; Turner Bequest LXVI).
At the gutter is a slight continuation of the figure study on folio 67 recto opposite (D04077); there is also some offsetting of white chalk from that page.
