Finberg suggested that this, along with Tate D03399 (Turner Bequest LVIII 20), shows ‘Glen Lyon’.1 Turner does not seem to have explored Glen Lyon to any extent, and this view has the flavour of a scene in the region of Ben More, which may be the mountain that dominates the composition. Compare Tate D03406 (Turner Bequest LVIII 27).
