Inverted relative to the sketchbook’s foliation, this slight study shows sailing boats moored off East Cowes Castle. Technical notes:
There is prominent brown staining, apparently from a spillage, which has been offset onto folio 44 verso opposite (D18074) and soaked through to the verso (D18076).
