Feliks TOPOLSKI b. 1907
Draughtsman, cartoonist and illustrator. Born 14 August 1907 in Warsaw, son of an actor. Studied at the Academy of Art, Warsaw, in Paris and in Italy. Settled in England 1935; naturalized British subject 1947. Served as Official War Artist 1940–5. Made mural decorations at Kendal House flats for the Finsbury Borough Council 1952. Awarded gold medal of honour by the International Fine Arts Council 1955. Painted a portrait of Dame Edith Sitwell and Coronation murals for Buckingham Palace 1959. Editor and illustrator of Topolski's Chronicle.
