Ivor ROBERTS-JONES b. 1916
Sculptor and portraitist. Born 2 November 1916 at Oswestry, Shropshire. Studied at Goldsmiths' College 1932–4 and the R.A. Schools 1934–8. Influenced by Clive Gardiner and by the Despiau exhibition in London 1938. Active war service with the Royal Artillery in Burma 1939–45. Has taught at Goldsmiths' College since 1946. First one-man exhibition at the Beaux Arts Gallery 1957.
