The artist often painted groups of ladies in elegant period costume, engaged in conversation, or sitting out at the theatre or ball. A lithograph entitled ‘Gossip’ was shown at the Society of Twelve in 1905 (63), and a fan ‘Les Causeuses’ was exhibited at the Galerie Moret, Paris, in 1901, but these compositions are not specifically related to N03195.
