This is related to a larger carving in Portland stone, 24 x 37 x 23cm, reproduced in Herbert Read and Leslie Martin, Gabo: Constructions, Sculpture, Paintings, Drawings, Engravings (London 1957), pls.55 and 56 as 'Kinetic Stone Carving' 1936, but its forms are much more blurred and rounded.
