Technique and condition
The image is painted in watercolour with detail in gouache on blue wove paper. Slight discolouration is visible where the window mount opening has exposed the work to atmospheric conditions; all four edges under window mount opening show the paper tone to be slightly brighter and 'bluer'.
On acquisition the backing was removed. Residual adhesive on the recto and verso was removed and the work pressed prior to being inlaid and mounted onto white museum board.
