Display caption
Legend is a floor-based sculpture comprised of three triangular flat Perspex planes which are perforated by circles of various sizes and connected to each other by linear elements that zigzag around and between them, creating the optical illusion of a complex physical structure. Austere and fragile, the work functions as a drawing in space, neither abstract nor representational. Interested in the relationship between volume and mass, skin and structure, surface and edge, Rothschild creates forms which embody her fascination with the spiritual and ritualistic qualities of objects.
