The drawing dates from 1922, the year in which the artist spent his summer holiday in Florence. The Palazzo Uguccioni stands on the north side of the Piazza della Signoria, and was built for Giovanni Uguccioni c. 1550 by the architect Mariotto di Zanobi Folfi.
