One of a group of paintings and prints of Russian subjects made in 1961, after a visit to the Soviet Union. Trevelyan worked directly on the steel plate; after proofing by the artist this plate was editioned by the etcher, John Brunsdon, in his studio at Digswell House, Welwyn Garden City.
