At the request of the benefactor the portrait is inscribed on the frame ‘Michael Lewis Myers Esq. Freeman of the City of London Late of Stone Farm Broadstairs. Presented by his sister Mrs Beatrice Benson late of Abercorn Place St John’s Wood London’.
Michael Lewis Myers (1879–1969) became a Freeman of the City of London by patrimony in December 1930.
