Paul Cezanne Still Life with Water Jug c.1892-3 Tate Bequeathed by C. Frank Stoop, 1933
We want your takes on the iconic Cezanne apples in a Tate Collective creative challenge to celebrate the newly opened Cezanne exhibition at Tate Modern.
A selection of entries will be displayed digitally at the Cezanne-themed Tate Modern Late on Friday 25th November. Their creators will get free tickets for them and three friends, Cezanne exhibition merch and a feature on Tate Collective socials.
The creative challenge
Cezanne once said, “I will astonish Paris with an apple”, and this is exactly what he did.
Cezanne is a pivotal figure in modern painting who gave license to generations of artists to break the rules.
You’re invited to follow in the footsteps of Cezanne and create an artwork featuring apples, done in your own imaginative way.
You can be as creative as you can with your response, and the artwork can be in any medium of your choice so long as it is delivered in a digital format.
Inspiration
We invited illustrators Joey Yu and Jasmin Abdallah to start thing off for us. Here are their ‘dazzled apples’ to inspire you:
