Join philosopher and writer Paul B. Preciado in conversation with writer and critic Lauren Elkin. The two will discuss Preciado's new book, An Apartment on Uranus.
In this new collection of essays, Preciado writes about a space where he might live beyond existing power structures. By referring to a variety of social and political issues, including the rise of neo-fascism in Europe, the migrant crisis, sex work, and the harassment of trans children, An Apartment on Uranus takes a personal experience as a starting point to question the foundations of a society which excludes conflict and describes it as weakness.

Biographies
Paul B. Preciado is the author of Counter-Sexual Manifesto, Testo Junkie: Sex, Drugs and Biopolitics and Pornotopia, for which he was awarded the Sade Prize in France. He was Head of Research of the Museum of Contemporary Art of Barcelona (MACBA) and Director of the Independent Studies Program (PEI) from 2011 to 2014. From 2014 to 2017 he was the Curator of Public Programmes of documenta 14. He is currently the Resident Philosopher at the Centre Pompidou and lives in Paris, France.
Lauren Elkin is the author of Flâneuse: Women Walk the City. Her next book, Art Monsters: On Beauty and Excess, argues for an aesthetics of monstrosity that unites women’s art-making across the last century. She lives in Paris and Liverpool.
