Explore how we can make Cornwall's rich cultural heritage more accessible to people with disabilities

Join us for a morning of discussions and networking. This event is for practitioners, researchers and organisations working in the cultural heritage sector. Connect with like-minded people, share ideas, and enjoy lunch together.

Don't miss out on this opportunity to be a part of the conversation surrounding cultural heritage and accessibility in our community. We look forward to seeing you there.

The day includes:

  • An introduction by Georgina Kennedy, Curator: Communities, Tate St Ives
  • A presentation by Victoria Carpenter, Access Cornwall
  • A presentation by Professor Kerrie Schaefer, Professor of Community Performance, University of Exeter
  • An introduction to Your Space which has taken inspiration from Barbara Hepworth’s Palais de Danse in St Ives. The tour will be led by Cassie Penn, Assistant Curator: Communities, Tate St Ives
  • Introductions to the network by Dr. Alyson Mercer, Lecturer in Modern British History, University of Exeter, and Dr. Simon Hayhoe, Associate Professor of Special Educational Needs, Disability and Inclusion, University of Exeter, followed by a discussion on access in Cornwall and the development of the network

Presented by the University of Exeter (Penryn Campus and the Centre for Wellbeing, Inclusion and Disability in Educational Research, School of Education).

Tate St Ives is located on Porthmeor Beach. There is a ramp up to the gallery entrance alongside stairs with a handrail.
