Frances Spalding, respected authority on the life and influence of Virginia Woolf, will deliver this lecture to complement the current exhibition which features over 200 works of art in four sections - Landscape and Place, Performing Identity, Still Life and the Home and The Private Self.
Frances Spalding is an art historian, critic and biographer with a specialist interest in twentieth-century British art. She is Emeritus Fellow of Clare Hall, Cambridge and a Fellow of the Royal Society of Literature, an Honorary Fellow of the Royal College of Art and in 2005 was made a Companion of the British Empire for Services to Literature. Spalding’s recent work includes Virginia Woolf, Art Life and Vision and The Illustrated Letters of Virginia Woolf, published by The National Trust.
