At the European Researchers’ Night Pisa, Italy, 29 September 2017

The European Researchers’ Night is an event that is held every year across Europe on the last Friday of September. This year’s Researchers’ Night took place on Friday 29 September and involved more than 250 cities in the European Union and neighbouring countries.

Thanks to the BRIGHT project (Brilliant Researchers Impact on Growth Health and Trust in research), which aims at enhancing the visibility and perception of researchers among the general population in Italian region of Tuscany, several research institutes in Pisa opened the doors of their laboratories to thousands of researchers and interested public.

CMOP Poster Presented at the European Researchers' Night in Pisa, 29 September 2017.

On this occasion, the CMOP team at the University of Pisa presented a bilingual (English and Italian) poster raising awareness on a the challenges brought by the conservation of 20th and 21st century oil paintings. The current lack of understanding of the degradation phenomena affecting these paintings, the empirical approach currently in use in conservation treatments and the efforts of the CMOP international research team to tackle these issues had been at the centre of the informal discussions and exchanges among the audience and the researchers from the university of Pisa.
