Conceive and execute the curatorial programme of collection displays and exhibitions at Tate Liverpool and to represent the gallery externally and internally.
Biography
Jemima Pyne has a significant history with the gallery over the last 40 years, having joined Tate in 1987 and has given insight and leadership during the gallery’s most significant moments.
As a senior leader, Jemima has been involved in Transforming Tate Liverpool capital project from its inception, so is ideally positioned to lead the gallery towards its reopening in 2027.
Jemima has worked across a number of departments at Tate Liverpool, including the Programme team where she worked on the gallery’s earliest exhibitions and displays. Since 2009 she has been Head of Audiences, focusing on the development of communications and marketing, gallery operations, and Tate Liverpool’s renowned visitor experience.
Jemima has been a central figure in Tate Liverpool’s most successful exhibitions, including Antony Gormley: Field (2004), Gustav Klimt (2008), Picasso: Peace and Freedom (2010) and Keith Haring (2019) and in bringing the Turner Prize to Liverpool in 2007 and 2023.
Jemima has an established reputation working with partners across the city to support visitor economy and is a Director of Royal Albert Dock Liverpool and trustee of Royal Albert Dock Liverpool Charitable Foundation.
