Biography

Beatriz González is a painter, sculptor, critic, curator, art historian, and is considered one of the founders of what is known today as Modern Colombian Art. She is often associated with the Pop Art movement, and is best known for her bright and colorful paintings depicting the traumatic social context in her home country, specifically during the war torn period in Colombia that is known as La Violencia.
