Nalini Malani (born 1946, in Karachi, undivided India) is a contemporary Indian artist. She is known for her lush, politically charged mixed-medium paintings and drawings, videos, installation and theatre works Her work prominence to " unwaveringly urban and internationalist" point of views. A pioneering artist, she was among the first to explicitly introduce feminist issues in her work in 1980's.She began presenting innovative, visually and conceptually layered theatre and installation pieces in the early 1990's. Her experience of the displacement caused by the Partition of India,19th -century English "nonsense "writing, early 20th-century experimental theatre, Hindu and Greek mythology influences all her work.
