'Door’ relates closely to ‘Bronze Smoke’ (op.cit., no.66) and ‘Altitude’ (op.cit., no.67) in that the three prints are each drawn on two stones, the first stone having been drawn in 1976, and the second in 1978. In all three, the paper is used as an active colour in the print and not as a neutral support. In the case of ‘Door’ this is a blue 1927 J. Whatman.
