Display caption
The World is one of a number of works that Jensen has made by sewing fragments of material onto a found support, in this case a section of sequined fabric sewn to a ‘canvas’ of grey wool. He has described such works as ‘painting without paint’. Jensen’s practice draws attention to seemingly incidental details such as flecks of wool or frayed edges, and his muted palette emphasises negative space as much as delineated forms.
