P05553 RED STILL LIFE 1980
Both inscribed ‘Landsaat 80’ bottom right and ‘proefdruk’
Two screenprints [P05552-P05553] printed at Kelpra Studio and published by Asselijn-Amsterdam, each 28 3/4×31 3/4 (72.9×80.8)
Presented by Rose and Chris Prater 1980
Landsaat takes his working sketches and photographs through a process of refinement, simplification and spatial reduction to a flat configuration which he then draws in pen and ink, with separate colour notes in preparation for making a screenprint. He first worked with Chris Prater at Kelpra in 1977 and has worked there each year until 1980: these two [P05552-P05553] were the last prints he made there.
