Turner Bequest CCLXIII 13
Display caption
This view of Angers distorts the pencil sketch on which it is loosely based, but it is nevertheless possible to make out the form of the medieval chateau and the tower of the cathedral. Turner may have planned this work as a design to appear in The Keepsake annual, like that of Nantes (no.104). However, no finished work of this scene is known.
