Catalogue entry

Turner’s journey between Chalon-sur-Saône and Lyon may have been accomplished by river and this sketch depicts a group of sailing boats with the town of Tournus visible in the distance. There is an additional study of a vessel from the side in the top right-hand corner. For further sketches of Tournus see folio 22 (D14024).
