Catalogue entry

This view of Villeneuve, Val d’Aosta, includes the old church in foreground, Château d’Argent above left and the tower house (or Tour Colin) at La Crete to the right. Turner recorded similar material, from a rather different viewpoint, in a watercolour of Chatel Argent, Villenueve, Val d’Aosta (National Gallery of Ireland, Dublin).1
